Work Beckons...

but frankly I'm not in much of a mood to
answer the call.

Looking at the colour palette of many of my photos for the past
few months, I wonder about the effect our dark Northern Monsoon Climate
is having on the collective psyche.

I used hate the colour orange, but now with looming grey skies the norm,
it's getting worked into my top choice whenever possible.

The challenge set to work solidly for two terms on new aspects
of photography and blogging could not seem less appealing at
the moment.

Much more of "Irish" weather and hibernation will be the only option.

Talks of "Recession", while distant still may send some photographers
off to find visual metaphors for a general malaise?
I have no intention of joining them...

There really is quite a lot of colour around, in the Isles ... it just tends to be in smaller things, I've found. The brightest flowers are quite tiny, and you have to be paying attention, not hustling about, if you're going to find them.

The gray ... can get you down.

Time for soups, and to make fruitcake!

Don't worry.
I tend to exaggerate the case.

Yellow flowers against grey are a very fine combination.

Living, as I do, in a semi-arid clime, vivid green reaches deep into my being. You mention orange -- nasturtiums can be quite beautiful in a pot (I don't have much by way of soil and have to make do...)

Many thanks for your posts,grannyj.

I'm glad you enjoy the green tones.
It can become a bit overwhelming after months and whenever I return from a visiting a dry climate it can take weeks to re-adjust.

Australian plants would probably suit your soil?
